Family Law

Family Law

The practice area of family law encompasses some of the most emotionally-charged issues handled in court. Whether you are planning to file for divorce or you are involved in a custody dispute, I will take the time to give you one-on-one attention and provide you with the highest quality of service.

Custody

When a child’s parents don’t live in the same house, child custody orders set clear boundaries and protect the child’s wellbeing. Pennsylvania recognizes two types of child custody: legal custody and physical custody. Legal custody provides parents with the right to make decisions on behalf of the child, while physical custody determines where the child lives.

Pennsylvania courts may award sole custody to one parent, or they may award primary custody to one parent and partial custody to the other. The court may also decide to allow parents to share custody. Child custody cases in the state of Pennsylvania are always settled based on the best interests of the child.

I can help you pursue a fair custody arrangement that is in the best interests of your child and protects your right to maintain a healthy parent-child relationship.

Child Support

Pennsylvania courts may order one parent to pay child support to the other in order to ensure that both parents are providing for their children financially. The amount of support ordered will depend on the income of the parents, the parenting time agreement, and other factors. Whether you are the payer or the recipient of child support, I can help you represent your interests in court and fight for an arrangement that is as beneficial as possible.

Divorce

Divorce is one of the most difficult transitions you will face in life, but I am here to help you get through this process with as little stress as possible. I can handle both contested and uncontested divorce cases, helping you achieve a fair property division settlement and deal with any issues related to child custody, child support, or alimony.

Adoption

If you want to add a child to your family through adoption, I can help you navigate this complex process. I can assist with domestic and international adoptions, as well as relative and stepparent adoptions.

Guardianship

Guardianship arrangements may be created for minors who can no longer live with their parents or for adults who are too disabled to manage their own financial or personal needs. I can help you pursue guardianship options and use the resources available to protect your loved one.
